Late night Philippines packing procrastination

23 12 2008

I’m supposed to be packing for my flight today but I’m reminiscing about my last trip to the Philippines. I didn’t think I’d be lucky enough to return this soon, AND to return with family! How nice to have parents point out childhood landmarks. I’m glad that as a family we experience seeing where our roots lie. Exactly how far have the coconuts have drifted from their home island? Seeing lush countryside that could have been our stomping grounds, feeling the warm rain of a tropical storm, and living amongst impoverished people smiling because money doesn’t really matter. Oh and the LECHON!  That sweet sweet swine.

Time to pack.
